Every NHL sports betting season there seems to be that one rookie player that breaks through for his team, and provides that lucky fantasy manager with the elite option not only for the present, but to a greater degree in the future as an asset in keeper leagues. Last season, Taylor Hall exploded on to the scene with the Edmonton Oilers, and provided enough spark to prove to everyone around him that he had the potential to be something great. Hall likely will be one of the players that are kept heading into this season, but there are still a couple of rookies that players can select in their fantasy draft.
One of those players went to the Colorado Avalanche second overall in this past year’s draft in Gabriel Landeskog, who developed as a top winger with the Kitchener Rangers over the past couple of years. It seemed as though every night Landeskog’s name was being called after he scored another goal with his junior team, and he looks like one of the most ready rookie prospects. The Avalanche have a young team with plenty of room available for him to start, so look for Landeskog to be a key rookie contributor immediately. Another player to keep an eye on is young Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, who may not get a call this year until later in the season but should be a star for years to come. Nugent-Hopkins has all of the skill and determination teams want, and there was an online casino reason he was the first overall pick.
