It’s about that time of year again where gamblers involved in sports betting can be left scratching their heads in disbelief. Honestly now, how many of you out there thought that the Phoenix Coyotes would be competing for top spot in the Western Conference this late in the season? Exactly my point! This time a year a bettor must be very cautious when laying down the bucks.
WINGS ALMOST CLIPPED
Many people are puzzled at the fact the Wings are fighting for their playoff lives sitting in eighth two points up on ninth place Calgary. Truth is it’s not all that surprising considering the injuries that has plagued this team all year, and if you couple that with the fact that, no team has played nowhere near the amount of hockey the Red Wings have played over the last five years you can understand that just maybe this team is out of gas. Having one of the oldest rosters in the league doesn’t help. One thing I learned over time is, never count a Mike Babcock coached team out.
NEWBIES ON THE RISE
It’s just wonderful to see all so many teams taking up spots in the standings that are new to them. Phoenix, Los Angeles, and even Chicago in the West are all in unfamiliar positions, and all three are a lock to make the postseason. It will be fun to see how far these teams get when up against playoff savvy teams.
HEAD SHOT DISCUSIONS ARE GIVING ME HEADACHES
The league has come down hard on head shots. Ok so it took the league almost 100-years to figure out that a hit to an opponent’s head should be deemed illegal? Even when players weren’t wearing helmets it made sense, but with all the analyzing that takes place over something that seems so simple is giving me my own head trauma. It’s simple people, really…Don’t hit anyone in the head period. End of story.
